Black Star Rising - Southern Mordavia Event Invite

Ok, I know I said Southern Mordavia was suspended in favour of a new system, but truth be told real life hasn’t allowed much time to write new rule books. So after finally getting off my back side thanks to the pier pressure of some players (you know who you are :stuck_out_tongue:), here’s the latest installment of Southern Mordavia

Black Star Rising

A Southern Mordavia Event

Twenty years have passed since the arrival of the 13th Legion in Mordavia, the legion itself now in an aged state has become less vigorous in its efforts to secure the land, and instead have dug in at Fort Carpathia with a few distant outposts manned by Legionnaires. Auxiliaries make up the back bone of the Legion now, mostly recruited from the local populace to help maintain a sort of half truce between all races that live amongst them.

A dispatch of Auxiliaries are four days over due, their fate uncertain no runners thus far have found a trace of them. They were upon a mission to escort a group of renegade Gypsy leaders back to Carpathia for interrogation; foul play is expected by the camp prefect. A day later a small group of Legionnaires and Auxiliaries were dispatched, their mission is to find the lost Auxiliaries, their captives and most importantly find the reason for their delay, and deal to this delay appropriately.

What a Day! That was great fun. We didn’t run the black star rising event due to numerous unforseen problems ranging from sickness, weather, and others. However we did run a adhoc event which I’d like to name the…

HEADLESS FOOTMAN

Yup it was a rip off of the headless horseman sort off, however in this version the footman had his head bitten off by an upset Necrotaur many years ago. A Roman Soldier who abandoned his Legion finds himself in the middle of nasty situation, and his survival depends on his ability to solve the footmans woes.

A full story board will be available in a wee while after the pictures are uploaded, there are loads of fun parts in there, with my personal favorite the mage escaping a new renegade Vampire NPC only to find a tree knocking himself out just long enough for the vampire to finish him off (this was not planned).

I wanna know how you larped a headless guy!

Any of the photos for this come out well? It was a hell of a lot of fun…

Yep, photos are always cool to see.

Be interested to hear more about what the game was like and what’s in the pipeline, too.

Right here are some photo’s, I was going to write the story out, but finding it a bit hard to get to the computer especially with the time of year and my latest project .

“never!”

Our Hero lived by the sword and died by it.

This game was total adhoc, it worked out quite well in the end.

In the pipeline for this group…

I’m getting an itch I can’t scratch, this itch is a 48 hour Mordavia event, based on the Legions arrival in Mordavia and the chaos that occurs after their arrival.

Animatronics, that’s right I’m getting into this quite strongly now, expect to see a roll out of advance costumes in the not to distant future.

More day events next year, based after the arrival of the Romans in Mordavia

Possibly will be releasing Tolerance 2043 mech combat middle of next year.

Seeking a suitable location for a Modern Horror event, expect a game to be organised early next year.

That’s about all that comes to mind right now, idea’s are lurking about in the back of my head, just a case of putting pen to paper and get things worked out.

You’ve done some cool work on the props. Shame the dude with the cell phone couldn’t put it in his pocket :frowning:

Cell phone?.. Gotcha, it’s the radio, he was GMing at the time, keeping in contact with base camp .

So there was one player? The hero? How many NPCs?

We decided to run a one hero event, it had been discussed in the past as a Auckland Mordavia scenario, one player vs NPC’s High risk sort of event. Decided it was a good time to give it a go.
