All For One

Another cool larp from the UK: All For One. As might be guessed from the title, its Three Musketeers-inspired, but focusing specifically on the musketeer experience (duelling, swashbuckling, carousing, and a ball), with players grouped in squads of six-plus-a-servant.

This is from the same people who did God Rest Ye Merry, and it’ll be quite interesting to see how they do musketeers and what cool moments they have planned. Hopefully they’ll also release similar material afterwards to show others how to do cool stuff.

Special effects, mixing “linear” and blackbox adventures into the game, and the structure of an “academy” larp in general. The latter seems to be becoming a common format (starting with the Potter-esque games like College of Wizardry or New World Magischola, but there’s also a Witcher Academy, and you could probably do a Jedi School), and might be worth exploring.
